Galaxy F (Prime) Spotted In Leaked Photo
GalaxyS5 , News , smart phones / July 15, 2014

Thanks to our favorite smartphone industry news leaker @evleaks, we now have a sneak peak at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy F (also known as the Prime variant). We’ve mentioned this device on numerous occasions here on blog, discussing some of its possible features and specifications. While Samsung has yet to confirm the existence of the Galaxy F, we knew it was coming given the company’s similar variants with the Galaxy S4. Evleaks tweeted the Galaxy F photo on July 2, along with the caption: “Samsung Galaxy F, in crystal clear, 2014.” This immediately triggered a response from the smartphone community, with some Twitter users asking questions like “I just noticed that i dont see a front camera?” and “so its different from s5 prime?” These are both frequently asked questions regarding the Galaxy F, so we’ll do our best to answer them. We’re assuming the front-facing camera is one of the small circular devices at the top. Being that the front-facing camera is considered a “secondary” camera, it will feature a lower resolution than the rear-facing “primary” camera. And the Galaxy F is the same as the Prime. Samsung is reportedly marketing it under the “Galaxy F” name — reasons for which we…

Comparing The Galaxy S5 vs The Galaxy S5 Prime
GalaxyS5 , smart phones / June 30, 2014

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime (dubbed the Galaxy F) is gearing up to be South Korean tech company’s biggest and baddest smartphone yet. Of course, this should come as no surprise considering it’s the “premium” variant of the Galaxy S5. But how exactly does it stand out from the launch-edition Galaxy S5? Samsung has kept their lips sealed regarding details and specs of the Galaxy S5 Prime. However, numerous websites have reported a launch date of mid-to-late June. With June wrapping up, though, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see Samsung’s new Prime variant on the market before July rolls around. Body According to leaked details, the upcoming Galaxy S5 Prime will sport an aluminum body instead of the launch-edition’s all-plastic body. This alone is a huge advantage that’s sure to attract some consumers to the new variant. While the Galaxy S5 remains one of the hottest smartphones to date, some users criticized Samsung for using plastic in its body. Opting for an aluminum body — featuring the same perforated rear design — will likely result in a smartphone that’s looks and feels like a higher quality device. Display Another key selling point of the Galaxy S5 Prime is its display. According…

Will The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Boast Faster Download Speeds?
GalaxyS5 , smart phones / June 25, 2014

While Samsung has yet to officially announce a premium, or Prime, variant of its flagship smartphone, the general consensus is that Samsung is edging closer to a release date. They’ve manufactured Prime variants for earlier Galaxy models, so it would only make sense for them to do the same with the Galaxy S5. But what kind of specs and features can you expect to find in the Galaxy S5 Prime? ZDNet Korea Reveals Galaxy S5 Prime Download Speeds According to a report by ZDNet Korea, the new Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will boast blazing-fast download speeds of 225 megabits per second. The website claims to have received this knowledge from “unnamed sources” close to the project. Granted, this isn’t an official confirmation by any means, but it’s a promising sign that users may  see an entirely new spectrum of download speeds. At 225 Mbps, Galaxy S5 Prime users could download apps, movies, music and other files in a flash. If this information is correct, the new Galaxy S5 Prime will boast download speeds which are three times faster than current LTE speeds for the launch-edition Galaxy S5. Download speeds for the Galaxy S5 are currently capped at 75 Mbps. Truthfully,…

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime To Feature 225 Mbps Download Speeds
GalaxyS5 / May 28, 2014

And you thought your smartphone’s download speeds were fast. According to a report published at ZDnet.com, Samsung’s upcoming premium variant of its flagship smartphone, dubbed the Galaxy S5 Prime, will feature a Snapdragon Qualcomm MDM9635 chip that’s capable of supporting download speeds up to 225 Mbps. Granted most cell carriers will probably throttle their customers before allowing them to hit these speeds, you can still technically achieve them with the Galaxy S5 Prime. ZDnet.com claims to have received this information from several unnamed sources close to Samsung. Is this rumor true or is it merely an attempt to generate hype for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S5 Prime variant? I guess we’ll have to wait a little bit longer to find out, but ZDnet.com has a strong reputation for leaking accurate details about smartphones and other devices. The current download speed cap on LTE is 75 Mbps, which means the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime is capable of downloading data three times faster than the LTE limit! Assuming the report is correct, this would be mind-boggling for any device to achieve. But there’s a catch: the 225 Mbps download speeds may only be available for users in South Korean (sorry U.S. users!). ZDnet.com…
