If you keep up with our blog here at GalaxyS5US.com, you’ve probably heard a rumor that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature a curved display. There has been numerous reports leaked suggesting that it will in fact feature a curved display. But with no official word yet by Samsung, we’re left to speculate on the Galaxy S5’s hardware and design. Samsung Files Patent For Curved Display Last year, Samsung filed a patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office (see illustration above). This patent includes curved edges with a sloped screen. Up until now, Samsung has yet to use this patent, leading many tech analysis to believe it’s for the company’s upcoming Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone. A curved screen would likely improve ergonomics, offering a more natural and comfortable feel when holding the device. Here are some of the ‘possible’ benefits of a curved display: More comfortable to hold Reduces glare and light reflection Prevents prying eyes from those around you Improved clarity Of course, the Galaxy Note 4 may also feature the company’s patented curved screen display. Both the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 are scheduled for release this year, so we’ll find out the answer to this…
More than just speculation… In a previous blog post, we talked about some of the rumors circulating in regards to the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date. In this post, we said it would likely happen around the spring of 2014, as the International Business Times (IBT) had leaked a report which suggested this. The IBT suggested report suggested that mass production of the Samsung Galaxy S5 would begin in January, with the device available for sale around March and April. Did a Samsung Executive Spill The Beans? We know have even more evidence supporting a March-April release date. In an interview with Bloomberg, Samsung Executive Lee Young Hee noted a March/April release date. With the official word coming from an actual Samsung executive, you can mark your calenders for a March-April release date! “We’ve been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time. When we release our S5 device, you can also expect a Gear successor with more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved,” said Lee Young Hee, executive for Samsung. With March just a couple months away, consumers…
According to a recent concept image (see below), the answer is “maybe.” There’s still no official word from Samsung regarding the hardware specs of the company’s upcoming Galaxy S5, but a recently released concept image depicts the next-generation smartphone with an aluminum and leather body. As you can see, it’s a highly stylish design that looks incredibly realistic, which is why some tech industry analysts now believe it’s true. In the concept photo, you can see an ultra-thin smartphone that follows a similar structure as the previous Samsung Galaxy S4. Upon close examination, you’ll also notice the screen is curved, which is a rumor we discussed in a previous blog post. There’s plenty of evidence supporting a curved 5.25-inch display for the Galaxy S5, making this photo just a little more believable. An article published at the ibtimes.co.uk states that Samsung is heavily pushing curved screen technology in products displayed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The interface depicted in the Galaxy S5 concept image is also worth nothing. Currently, there are no Galaxy devices using this same interface, but it does bear a striking resemblance to the HTC One’s BlinkFeed. Maybe, This Is True… Like most…
Ever since Galaxy S4 stunned the market with a slim, lighter and powerful phone, rumors have been doing the mills apropos Galaxy S5. The good news is that it will be launched in this year amongst much fanfare. Speculated as one of the best offerings of 2014, its superb features will leave you flabbergasted. Metallic body The buzz is that the manufacturers are planning a huge alteration as far as the body goes. Leaving its predecessor way behind, the body will be all metallic. If the gossip is to be believed, then Galaxy S5 will have a special diamond metal body. This feature will craft a phone that will be more scratch, ding and dent resistant. 64-bit CPU Samsung S5 may not be able to catch up with iPhone 5S and even the Note 3 with regard to 64 bit-core CPU. Mass production of a 14nm 64-bit Exynos processor seems a bit impossible for the producers as the launch is slated for early 2014. Therefore, Samsung S5 will most probably go ahead with the original speculation, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip clocked at 2.5GHz alongside an Adreno 330 CPU. Power The most astonishing feature could be 3,500 mAh battery and…
As we draw closer to the Samsung Galaxy S5’s release, consumers and tech industry analysts alike are speculating over the type of processor it will feature. It’s no secret that the overall performance of a smartphone is directly linked to its processor, and in keeping up with Samsung’s tradition of producing next-gen tablets, phones and devices, you can expect the S5 to pack some serious power. For most consumers, processor speed is big selling point when choosing a smartphone. Even if you have a good 4G signal with your respective cell carrier, a slow processor can bog down ‘normal’ operations. Rather than loading a YouTube in just a couple seconds, perhaps it takes your smartphone several minutes. This is why so many eyes are fixated on the Samsung Galaxy 5S’s processor. Sorry, The 8-Core Processor Rumor is Just a Rumor In an article published at BGR.com, they originally hinted towards the Samsung Galaxy S5 featuring a whopping 64-bit 8-core Exynos processor. However, editors later updated their site, stating that this was probably not true. With so many rumors floating around regarding this upcoming device, it’s oftentimes difficult to separate the facts from the fiction. But this doesn’t necessarily mean the Samsung…
